Dear Everyone
I had a great vacation until I found out my grandfather was dying and had a few days left to live. Luckily it happened towards the end of the vacation. The first day we saw six deer in the field out in front of the cabin. They grazed while we watched in the evening light after dinner. This was Tuesday.

Friday we learned that Stephen's mother, Ruth Ann Williams Abbott, died without awaking from the coma she had been in for nearly 2 weeks after she had a major stroke. I ask all of you to send energy to him so that he can get through this mourning and grieving period with grace and courage. Notice that I said "died" instead of the euphemism "passed away."

My parents picked me up at 10 am on Sunday last weekend at the Hiltons in Damariscotta. It was hot and humid as we set out to our destination in Rockland. We were finally going to the North Atlantic Blues Festival! Robert Cray was playing for the final show.

We're writing this on Tegwedd's computer because my laptop is still in the shop, and the one that Tegwedd's ex-hubby gave us is defunct. It died this morning.
